JP’s TNA Sacrifice 2012 Preview~!

Once again, it is that time of the month! TNA PPV time! Or Stream time depending on how you look at it. Regardless, for those who are curious why I didn’t do one for Lockdown, it is because I would not be attending Lockdown. With that said, I still saw the show, and I’d say most of what would have been my predictions were spot-on, with the exception of Storm leaving Nashville without the title. Now, we have Roode treading along headlining with Rob Van Dam in the main event of a largely B TNA PPV. Let’s jump in with the picks!

Television Championship Match

Robbie E vs. Devon (C) vs. Robbie T

The reign of Devon continues and it has gone nowhere from the moment he won the title! Devon has faced both guys in the last couple weeks and gotten past both of them, so naturally, a triple threat seems reasonable. There are those who feel that PPV posters indicate the outcome for whoever is on said poster will have something positive in the future, but in this case, it will not be Robbie T winning the TV title. It will be Devon retaining after likely some stupidity between Robbie E/Robbie T.

Pick: Devon to retain

Knockout’s Championship Match
Brooke Tessmacher vs. Gail Kim (C)

EVOLVE 13 Results from Concord, NC 5/12/12

Pro Wrestling EVO Pre-show
Match #1: Fun Athletic Guys defated Joe Black & Arik Royal
Match #2: Chiva defeated Robyn Golphin via shooting star press
Match #3: Kirby Mack defeated Derek Ryze via roll up after knee to the face
Match #4: Marcellus King & Cedric Alexander defeated Corey Hollis & Chip Day

EVOLVE 13
Match #1: AR Fox defeated Jigsaw, Ricochet, and Samuray Del Sol in a 4-way match after pinning Del Sol with Lo Mein Pain to earn the right to face Johnny Gargano in the main event later in the night.
NOTE: I’m not sure if this counted in the EVOLVE wins/losses or not. I’d assume not since the main event didn’t.

Match #2: Silas Young (3-1) defeated Adam Page (0-2) via ref stoppage to go 4-1.
After the match,

Match #3: Caleb Konley (1-2) w/Jonny Fairplay and an unnamed woman defeated Kyle Matthews (0-1) via an arm-trap Liontamer to go 2-2.

Match #4: Alex Reynolds (2-0) defeated “The Manscout” Jake Manning (1-0) to remain undefeated at 3-0.

Match #5: Low Ki (3-0) defeated Jon Davis (1-2) via a Tree of Woe Double Stomp/Tree of Woe Warrior’s Way to get the pin on Jon.
Low Ki commended Jon Davis afterwards, calling him a great heavyweight. Low Ki is now the first person in EVOLVE to have gone undefeated at 4-0 and re-states what he said at Dragon Gate USA in Miami: he wants a championship in EVOLVE.

INTERMISSION

Match #6: Chuck Taylor (7-3) w/The Gentlemen’s Club defeated Mike Cruz (0-1) via Awful Waffle to go 8-3.
After, Lenny Leonard interviewed Chuck and pointed out that Chuck has the most wins in EVOLVE. He heard what Low Ki said about a title in EVOLVE and thinks it would look great on his mantel.

Match #7: El Generico (0-2) defeated Sami Callihan (3-5) via Brainbuster to pick up his first win in EVOLVE.
Lennt interviewed Generico after the match. Generico asked Low Ki (who was on commentary for this match) if he thought he’s not as good as he and the fans think. Callihan jumped Generico. Lenny told Sami to stop, but to no avail. Sami laid out a ref. Low Ki ran in and shoved Sami away. Sami told Low Ki he’ll touch whoever he wants then left. Generico got to his feet, had a face-off with Low Ki, then both left.

Match #8: In his third Open The Freedom Gate Championship defense, Johnny Gargano (C) defeated AR Fox via making Fox tap to the Gargano Escape.
After the match, Gargano called Fox the definition of a champion. He and Gargano shook hands and Fox went to the back. Gargano said being a professional wrestler and having the Open The Freedom Gate Championship means the world to him. Gargano said he’s proud of one other thing. He said he’s proud to pour his heart out to the fans that deserve the best for their money. Gargano points out a young girl in the audience named Peyton. Gargano brought her into the ring. Johnny said her dad contacted him online and told him that she had written a school paper about Gargano. Gargano read some of Peyton’s paper and told her that she’s special. He said he shared her paper that she wrote for school with everyone. Gargano said that sharing her paper with everyone was the most important thing he’s done. Gargano told her that right now about Peyton and she is his Open the Freedom Gate Champion. Gargano handed her the title and asked for his song to play. Peyton stood on the chair in the ring with the title and posed it Gargano ran around her. Peyton posed on the turnbuckles and high-fived Gargano. Gargano then thanked the fans for coming out and that was that.

EVOLVE 12 Results from Charlotte, NC 5/11/12

Match #1: “The Manscout” Jake Manning (0-0) defeated Adam Page (0-1) & Caleb Konley (1-1) w/Jonny Fairplay after a Backbreaker/Flatliner combination on Page to earn his first win in EVOLVE.

Match #2: Alex Reynolds (1-0) defeated Mike Cruz (0-0) via roll-up to go 2-0 in EVOLVE.

Match #3: Low Ki (2-0) defeated Jigsaw (1-0) via Ki Krusher, continuing his undefeated streak in EVOLVE at three wins.
After the match, Low Ki asked Jigsaw when he was going to stop pretending to be a luchador and when he was going to be a real wrestler. He then spoke on how he is tired of kids feeling that pro wrestling is easy and how he wants those kids to become men.

Match #4: Fit Finlay (2-0) defeated Jon Davis (1-1) via Tombstone Piledriver in about 24 minutes.
After the match, Finlay commended Jon’s toughness. Finlay then addresses Sami Callihan, saying that Sami could be a champion anywhere. Callihan runs out to the ring, tells Finlay to mind his own business, and bails. Finlay still thinks that he knows that Callihan has what it takes and went to the back.

INTERMISSION

Match #5: Chuck Taylor & Silas Young w/Jake Manning & Swamp Monster defeated Johnny Gargano & Samuray Del Sol following an Awful Waffle by Taylor on Gargano. This match did not count in the EVOLVE win-loss records.
Taylor said at the next set of Dragon Gate USA shows that he wants a shot at the Open The Freedom Gate Championship.

Match #6: Ricochet (3-2) defeated El Generico (0-1) via 630 to raise his record to 4-2.
Low Ki was on commentary during the match. After the match, Ricochet called out Low Ki for a future match, which Low Ki accepts. Low Ki then runs down Generico, reminding him that “he is not as good as he thinks.” He mentions how he has wrestled names such as Jushin Liger/Tiger Mask IV/Rey Mysterio and that if Generico keeps it up, he will disgrace them as well as the history of masked wrestlers.

Match #7: In an Evolution’s End Match, AR Fox (2-1) defeated Sami Callihan (3-4) via Springboard 450.
The rules of this match were that when the match was in the ring, it was a traditional wrestling contest. When it was on the outside, weapons were legal.
After the match, AR Fox said that he plans on winning the Open The Freedom Gate Championship tomorrow.
